The universe of Doctor Who will synchronise with the universe of Star Trek in a new game developed by East Side Games Group, specially designed to mark International Friendship Day.

The meeting between the two beloved sci-fi franchises occurs in a new story specially made that spans galaxies and time in the two mobile games Star Trek: Lower Decks Mobile and Doctor Who: Lost in Time

This crossover will be brought to life in a limited-time event in both games starting on August 1st. Fans will be treated to the same thrilling story, experienced from two unique perspectives.

Cerritos, while Lieutenant Brad Boimler and Ensign Beckett Mariner find themselves thrust into the enigmatic Doctor Who universe. With the ripple disrupting the very fabric of reality, the Doctor must join forces with the resourceful crew of the Cerritos, while Boimler and Mariner team up with the legendary River Song. Together, they race against time to repair the ripple and set things right.

BBC launches new Wonder Chase experience on Roblox

The Fifteenth Doctor and Ruby Sunday feature in a brand new game, BBC Wonder Chase, which has launched on Roblox today.

Doctor Who is one of the brands featured on the new service which includes shows like Match of the Day,, EastEnders, and The Next Step as well as some of the BBC’s most famous faces – including Gary Lineker, Zara McDermott, Louis Theroux and Hacker T Dog.

People can play fun mini-games, collect BBC iPlayer-themed coins, learn interesting nature facts and complete tricky obstacle courses. Along the way, they can challenge themselves to find and collect limited edition stickers or just take it easy, relax and chat with pals in their friends' list while watching clips from some of their favourite BBC shows in the cinema area.

The new BBC Wonder Chase experience aims to reach young people where they are and bring the BBC to them. Roblox is enormously popular with younger audiences and is used by over 71 million people every day. The experience is free on Roblox, and available on PC, mobile (iOS, Android), PlayStation, Xbox. The journey begins in Wonder Central, a fantastical city set on the water. Here, people will run into documentarians Louis Theroux and Zara McDermott, have a laugh with CBBC’s Hacker T Dog, or a red nose game from Comic Relief. From Wonder Central, they can also find portals to other parts of the experience – including:

 

  • Total Sport – a collection of sporty islands people can adventure around, surrounded by giant inflatables and activities, where they can meet and chat to Match of the Day stars Gary Lineker, Micah Richards and Alan Shearer.
  • Deep Space Zone – an otherworldly planet where people will find Ncuti Gatwa’s Fifteenth Doctor and Millie Gibson’s Ruby Sunday as well as a mischievous Goblin.
  • Tiny Planet – here people will enter an English country garden, but they’ll be the size of a bug! An interactive space for fun and learning about nature, and where players can chat to some of the BBC’s best known nature presenters, including Liz Bonnin and CBBC’s Deadly 60’s Steve Backshall.
  • Festival Park – a celebration of music, art and culture all set in a chilled out, magical festival. People can find and chat to Michelle, Kenzie and Eldon from the hit CBBC show The Next Step, or visit the BBC News rave tent.

BBC Wonder Chase world will evolve across the coming year with new content added and new worlds developed.

 

The experience was made by the BBC with Bristol based games developer Mobile Pie. The BBC has also used a number of accessibility tools for the experience, which are available on the Roblox platform. This includes the option to stop or pause motion such as grass or wind to reduce animations for those who may find them distracting. There is built-in support for Adaptive Controllers for people using PlayStation or Xbox, plus the ability to change what the buttons do so that users can control their experience. And there is a feature where users can automate a double jump, a key action, to help those who may have issues tapping twice in quick succession.

Doctor Who joins Fortnite

BBC Studios has announced that the Doctor has landed in the popular online video game Fortnite.


Players will take on new adventures, missions and battles, while exploring iconic locations from the Whoniverse, all on a brand-new Doctor Who island within the game.

When the mysterious Reality Virus causes the TARDIS to appear on the island, players must help repair it by finding the parts to fix the Dynamorphic generators.

 

The game starts on the TARDIS Landing Site where players will find the TARDIS and start their quest to gather the Dynamorphic Generator Crystals from around the hub island in order to repair it. Special rewards and surprises will keep players on their toes along the way. 

From the TARDIS Landing Site, head to one of the remaining four locations. Travel to Kerblam! on the moon of Kandoka to experience box fighting like never before, with the Kerblam Man looking on.

On the Escape Map, players must escape the QuadZone Rescue Space Craft while stopping the destructive Pting, an alien that is causing chaos by eating the ship’s systems. As the self-destruct sequence has been initiated players must find all 10 mechanical parts to repair the Life Pod and escape.

The Reality Virus has caused many realities to coexist on Gallifrey. On the Rumble Map players will choose a team and their weapon loadout to fight for either the Time Lords or the Daleks in an all-out battle.

EVE Online x Doctor Who Crossover Event

CCP Games and BBC Studios have announced an original crossover event between  Doctor Who and the free-to-play deep space-faring MMO EVE Online.

Universes will collide as Capsuleers and Doctor Who fans face the Daleks together in massive space battles in EVE Online x Doctor Who starting 13 January until 1 February.

EVE Online is a free-to-play, community-driven spaceship MMO game where players can choose their own path among the stars from countless options, developed by CCP Games in Reykjavik.

The game first launched in 2003 and has since gained recognition for its scale, complexity, and the world record-breaking exploits of its online community. EVE Online is one of the most critically acclaimed MMORPG intellectual properties (IPs) in time and space, and one of the most extensive works of science fiction in the world.

BBC Studios, in association with Digital entertainment studio Maze Theory, have released the Narrative Adventure Game, Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality,  on Nintendo Switch

In the game you can face Weeping Angels, Daleks, Cybermen and more as you save the universe together with the Thirteenth Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) and Tenth Doctor (David Tennant).

Featuring new worlds, new gameplay, and an expanded story written by Gavin Collinson (Doctor Who: The Edge of Time, Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins), players will come face to face with classic Doctor Who monsters including the terrifying Weeping Angels, power-hungry Daleks and metal-clad Cybermen... and a brand-new foe, the CyberReaper.

Thirteenth Doctor Jodie Whittaker and Tenth Doctor David Tennant will face a new nemesis in a quest to save reality in a new videogame to be released this Autumn.

Digital entertainment studio, Maze Theory, in partnership with BBC Studios, have today announced that the brand-new videogame Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality will launch on Wednesday 30th September 2021.

Compatible with current and next-gen consoles as well as PC, Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality reimagines and expands on Doctor Who: The Edge of Time, with a completely new and compelling adventure.

With new worlds to explore and all-new modes of gameplay, players will be guided by the ThirteenthDoctor (voiced by Jodie Whittaker), and for the first time will also encounter the Tenth Doctor (voiced by David Tennant) in a new story written by Gavin Collinson (Doctor Who: The Edge of Time, Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins).

Coming to consoles and PC, Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality reimagines, and builds upon, last year’s VR experience, Doctor Who: The Edge of Time, with a new and compelling first-person adventure.

The game will see players uncover and decipher the mystery of a ‘found phone’, unravelling a sinister series of events taking place at Wester Drumlins, the iconic ‘uninhabited’ home featured in the legendary Doctor Who episode Blink.

Someone is missing and a menacing new nemesis has emerged. Players will work with Petronella Osgood and other classic characters as they get steadily closer to the truth.

Doctor Who Zone launches in BBC’s Nightfall game

Young gamers can now transport themselves inside the iconic world of Doctor Who for a limited time in Nightfall, the BBC’s online multiplayer game.

Nightfall’s REM Zone 2 has been transformed until 29th September, and it’s up to Nightfallers to work together and keep the Doctor’s most infamous villains – the Daleks – at bay.

The free-to-play game gives players the chance to claim new outfits and style their Nightfaller as Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor, or as one of the Doctor’s long-standing enemies, the Cybermen. Once they’ve unlocked the outfits, they’ll be able to keep them forever. 

In Nightfall, players control a version of themselves that exists in their dreams – a Nightfaller. Their purpose: to work with other Nightfallers and defend the Dream from Nightmares, made up of worries from the waking world.

The Doctor Who takeover of REM Zone 2 is one of five REM zones available within the game, hosting up to 20 players across them at a time. Nightfall is being continuously updated and this time-limited feature is the latest in a series of collaborations with BBC brands, with more coming soon.

Immersive Everywhere today revealed further details for Doctor Who: Time Fracture, a new immersive theatrical event from the team behind The Great Gatsby, the UK’s longest-running immersive show.

 

Officially licensed by BBC Studios, Doctor Who: Time Fracture will take place at Immersive | LDN, a former military drill hall dating back to 1890, from 17 February 2021, with tickets available through to 11 April 2021.

Drawing from the rich legacy of Doctor Who, which spans over half a century, we are creating an adventure that will entertain both fans that have immersed themselves in the show’s universe for years, and audience members who will walk in from the street having never seen an episode. It’s going to be an absolute blast.

Doctor Who: Time Fracture will take place whilst adhering to the social distancing guidelines announced by the UK Government this month. Immersive Everywhere will also be operating a no-questions-asked exchange policy where customers who are no longer able to attend can exchange their ticket for an equivalent ticket on an alternative date.

 

Immersive Everywhere will be offering a free preview performance of Doctor Who: Time Fracture as special thank you to care workers at the front line of the coronavirus pandemic. Further details to follow.
