The latest edition of the Fanzine Tales from the Matrix is now available.

Tales from the Matrix is a free weekly Doctor Who long-form fiction zine. So far 10 issues have been published with over 300 pages of fiction.

The magazine is being distributed by three Doctor Who clubs (The Guardians of Gallifrey, the Prynceton Prydonians, and the Doctor Who Club of Australia) to all of their members. This is a non-commercial effort that now built a readership of over 1,000.

Doctor Who fans around the world united in April 2020 to recreate their favourite moments during the lockdown.

The Homemade Who project was launched last month to give the Doctor Who community something creative and fun to do while everyone’s been stuck at home.

With Doctor Who celebrating 15 years since its revival, fans were asked to recreate some of their favourite scenes from 2005 onwards using whatever they could find in their house.

Entries were sent in from England, Australia, France, Luxembourg, Argentina, Wales, Germany, Italy, the Philippines, the USA, and New Zealand!

The latest release from Terraqueous Distributors is The Unofficial Master Annual 2074.

The annual is 136 pages, featuring stories and illustrations produced by fans, as well as contributions from well-known names such as Alister Pearson, Smuzz, and Andy Walker.

The Master annual was originally announced last November, with a call for contributors. The following is an excerpt from the writer's guidelines: The Master is the Anti-hero. Sometimes saving people, not because of compassion or moral values, but because it suits whatever agenda he has. Of course, he can also be the villain, remember that meddlesome Doctor isn't around - and that's when villains come out on top.

The focus of the annual is the original Master portrayed by Roger Delgado. The cover artwork is a homage to the first-ever Dr Who annual that was released in 1965 by World Distributors. The cover was illustrated by Paul Cooke and features original characters from the stories in the annual.

The publication follows The Unofficial Dr Who Annual 1972 and The Unofficial Dr Who Annual 1987, which featured stories and illustrations produced by fans, as well as celebrity contributions from the worlds of Doctor Who.

The Unofficial Master Annual 2074 is available from Lulu at the print-on-demand price of £23.32 plus shipping costs). The annual is a not-for-profit publication, and none of the money paid by purchasers goes to the publisher or to any of the contributors.

The Unofficial Doctor Who Annual 1987 is also available, but will be retired later this year.

The Doctor Who Club of Australia (DWCA) has just released the third volume of its Zerinza yearbook series.

This third volume of Doctor Who fan publication Zerinza contains all-new interviews with K9 creator Bob Baker, non-fiction writer Robert Smith?, fiction writer Jon Blum, as well as fan audio creators Dallas Jones and Roger Reynolds.It also contains interviews from the archives (thanks to Antony Howe) with first producer Verity Lambert and Third Doctor companion Katy Manning.

Plus the publication delves behind the scenes on the making of a fan film, with both the script and an interview with the University of NSW Doctor Who Society on their work. Not to mention articles on a history of early Doctor Who fandom in Brisbane and a look at the links between Doctor Who and Bob Baker's 1980's opus Into the Labyrinth (which also featured scripts by Who luminaries Robert Holmes, John Lucarotti and Anthony Read).

Zerinza Volume Three is available now in paperback and hardcover editions from the DWCA Lulu shop.

North American viewers can see it at 8pm ET, while in Australia the episode debut's is on Thursday at 8pm. In New Zealand, it can be seen at 9am, Monday morning, just a couple of hours after the UK showing.

In New Zealand, it can be seen at 9am, Monday morning, just a couple of hours after the UK showing.

COMING SOON | Nikola Tesla's Night of Terror

Pupils at a special needs school in Wales have produced their own episode of Doctor Who, narrated by Seventh Doctor, Sylvester McCoy.

Ysgol Pen-y-Bryn is a school based in Swansea, for pupils aged 3-19 years, with a wide range of special needs.

Throughout the past year, their film enterprise group have been filming around Wales and making their own props for a special Doctor Who project.

Today sees the launch of the completed episode (just under 40 minutes in length) on the school's YouTube channel for free.

The BBC has revealed the list of Writers and Directors responsible for the upcoming series of Doctor Who.

With the Thirteenth Doctor, played by Jodie Whittaker, returning in the New year, the BBC is starting to ramp up publicity for what will be the 38th series of the programme, the twelfth since it returned in 2005.

This year sees three new writers joining the show.

• Nina Metivier
Co-creator of the Netflix series The A-List and a writer on the series Dixi. Previously served as a script editor on Doctor Who.
• Maxine Alderton
Writer for Emmerdale and CBBC's The Worst Witch
• Charlene James
Worked on Sky Atlantic's The Discovery Of Witches. Awarded the Alfred Fagon Award, for best new play at the National Theatre for Cuttin' It,

Also making their debut in 2020 and joining the series are four new directors.

Worked on Enterprise
• Emma Sullivan
A graduate of the National Film and Television School. Her short film AFTER TOMORROW, was nominated for a Palme d’Or at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival
• Jamie Magnus Stone
Studied at the National Film and Television School. Nominated for a BAFTA for his short film Orbit Ever After.
• Lee Haven Jones
Studied at RADA. Lead director on the ITV series The Bay.

Doctor Who showrunner Chris Chibnall saidJodie Whittaker, Mandip Gill, Bradley Walsh and Tosin Cole will all be reprising their roles as the Thirteenth Doctor and her friends, alongside an exciting host of soon to be announced guest artists.

The series will be back on TV screens in early 2020.
