War of The Sontarans: Flux: Chapter Two had an Audience Appreciation Index score of 77.

The Appreciation Index or AI is a measure of how much the audience enjoyed the programme. The score, out of a hundred, is compiled by a specially selected panel of around 5,000 people who go online and rate and comment on programmes.

The figure is up a percentile on the 76 received by the series opener last week, indicating a higher appreciation amongst the programme commentators.

Doctor Who War of The Sontarans was watched by 3.96 million viewers according to unofficial overnight figures.

The figure is a drop of half a million from last week's season premiere, not unusual for the second episode of a season.

The final consolidated figure, which includes all those who watch the episode within one week. for the The Halloween Apocalypse was 5.79 million.

This made Doctor Who the 9th most-watched programme on British television for the week ending 31st October.

The Halloween Apocalypse: Flux: Chapter One had an Audience Appreciation Index score of 76.

The previous series opener, Spyfall: Part One  (New Year's Day 2020) achieved a score of 82, whilst the most recent episode, New Year's Day adventure Revolution of the Daleks, achieved a score of 79. The thirteenth Doctor's era as a whole has a a current average score of 80.

The score of 76 is the lowest achieved for the series since Love & Monsters in 2006.

The Halloween Apocalypse - Overnight Viewing Figures

Doctor Who The Halloween Apocalypse has an unofficial overnight viewing figure of 4.43 million viewers. 

 

The overnight viewing figure is slightly down on last season's opening episode Skyfall, but higher than the majority of series 12 episodes.

Doctor Who: Revolution of the Daleks had a final official rating of 6.25 million viewers.

The final rating takes into account all those who recorded the programme and watched it within one week. 

The rating confirms Doctor Who as the top-rated BBC One programme for New Year's Day, beating EastEnders which had 4.36 million watching and Mrs Brown's Boys with 4.87 million.

Overall Doctor Who was second for the day, with Coronation Street just claiming the top spot with 6.39 million viewers.

Doctor Who is likely to finish the week as the 8th most-watched programme, the same position held by the New Year 2020 programme SpyFall

The most-watched programme for the week ending 3rd January was Happy New Year Live! with 9.92 million watching London mark the start of 2021.

Revolution - Overnight Viewing Figures

Doctor Who - Revolution of the Daleks had an overnight viewing audience of 4.69 million viewers.

The figure made Doctor Who the most-watched programme on BBC One for New Year's Day. Doctor Who had a 21.1% share of the total TV audience.

Top overall was ITV's Evening News with 5.5 million viewers while Coronation Street came second with 5.0 million watching. Against The Doctor, Emmerdale had 4.6 million watching.

On BBC One Eastenders had 3.3 million while the comedy Mrs Brown's Boys had 3.7 million viewers. 

Final official figures should be available next week.

The conclusion to this year's series of Doctor Who, The Timeless Children, had an official rating of 4.69 million viewers, according to figures released by the Broadcasting Research Audience Board, BARB.

The figure is the lowest consolidated figure for an epiosde of Doctor Who since the series returned in 2005, a record previously held by the 2017 story, The Eaters of Light. Out of 861 episodes of Doctor Who broadcast since 1963, only 33 have achieved a lower rating.

To put the figue in perspective, it was still the 30th most-watched programme on British TV for the week, much higher that the position achieved by the majority of episodes of Doctor Who shown over the years. The episode had a 21.5% share of the total TV audience.

In detail 4.55 million watched the episode on a conventional TV set. An additional 70,000 watched on their PC, 39,000 watched on a Tablet device and 34,000 watched on a smartphone.

Top for the week was Ant and Dec's Saturday Takeaway on ITV with 7.41 million watching. The top BBC programme was the drama Death in Paradise with 6.78 million.

Doctor Who had an Appreciation Index score of 82

The average viweing figures for 2020 now stands at 5.40m as oposed to 7.96m for Series 11 in 2018. This is lower than Series 10 which averaged 5.64m. It is still higher than the lowest rated season, season 26 which averaged 4.31m .

Doctor Who, Ascension of the Cybermen, had an official rating of 4.99 million viewers, according to figures released by the Broadcasting Research Audience Board, BARB.

The ratings make the episode the 25th most watched programm across all television channels. It had a 22.6% share of the total TV audience.

In detail 4.85 million watched the episode on a conventional TV set. However the BARB 4-Screen Dashboard shows that an additional 68,000 watched on their PC, 38,000 watched on a Tablet device and 33,000 watched on a smartphone.

Top for the week was Ant and Dec's Saturday Takeaway on ITV with 8.70 million watching. The top BBC programme was the drama Call the Midwife with 8.01 million.

Doctor Who The Timeless Children, was watched by 3.78 million viewers in the UK yesterday according to unofficial overnight figures.

The rating, representing 19.8% of the total viewing audience made Doctor Who the 7th most popular show on British Television yesterday. Doctor Who was beaten by its ITV opposition, Dancing on Ice, which had 4.14 million viewers.

Top for the day was the lead into Doctor Who, Countryfile, with 4.44 million viewers. Following the Doctor Antiques Roadshow had 4.41 million watching. The latest episode of Last Tango in Halifax, had 4.17 million viewers. Over on ITV McDonald and Dodds was the highest rates show with 4.38 million watching.

The 10pm BBC News also did well with 4.38 million watching.

On overnight figures, Doctor Who was the 49th most-watched programme of the week.

The overnight figure counts those who watched the show yesterday. Final figures, released next Monday, will include those who recorded the programme and watched it later and are likely to be substantially higher.

The ratings make the episode the 31st most watched programm across all television channels. It had a 22.9% share of the total TV audience.

In detail 4.95 million watched the episode on a conventional TV set. However the BARB 4-Screen Dashboard shows that an additional 61,000 watched on their PC, 36,000 watched on a Tablet device and 30,000 watched on a smartphone.

Top for the week was White House Farm on ITV with 8.57 million watching. The top BBC programme was the drama Death in Paradise with 8.04 million.
