The Gathering: UK Overnight viewing figures

Torchwood:The Gathering achieved an average audience of 3.5 million viewers on BBC One and BBC One HD, according to unofficial overnight figures.
The penultimate episode in the Torchwood series had 14.7% of the audience share and was the 10th most watched programme of the day, very similar to the previous week
The first half of the programme faced strong opposition from Coronation Street, which had 6.7 million watching. The second half faced the game show Red and Black which managed 3.9 million against Torchwood. Celebrity Big Brother, which out rated Torchwood for its launch show three weeks ago, was down to 3.0 million viewers for its live final.
Final ratings, which include those who record the programme and watch it within seven days,will be released next week.
The broadcast of the episode on Starz on 2nd September achieved a total of 1.024m over its premiere and repeat showings (10pm/11pm); this was a slight drop over the previous week's End of the Road at 1.172m.
